Thad is the founding partner of Partners in Public Design, an urban design practice committed to more resilient, sustainable and equitable cities. He is also the Managing Director of the Center for Resilient Cities and Landscapes at Columbia University, where he brings a network of global expertise to frontline communities. Prior to founding PPD and CRCL, Thad worked for 14 years in New York City government on resilient infrastructure and community recovery and rebuilding. Thad was a Loeb Fellow at Harvard Graduate School of Design (2014-15), and has a Master of Architecture and Certificate in Urban Design from the University of Pennsylvania. He also has a Bachelor of Arts in Creative Non-Fiction Writing from the University of Pittsburgh.
