About me
Alex Szapiro is Managing Partner for Latin America of SoftBank, the world’s largest technology investment fund. Since arriving in the region in 2019, SoftBank has invested US$8 billion in some of the most important companies in the regional innovation ecosystem, such as Nubank, Inter & Co, QuintoAndar, VTEX, Wellhub, Rappi, Loggi, Unico, Kavak and Petlove, among others. Before joining SoftBank, he was the president of Amazon in Brazil, having launched the company’s local operations in 2012. Before Amazon, Alex was the Country Manager for Apple. He has also worked at Palm, Submarino, Officenet, Motorola and Citibank. Alex is a volunteer for the Friends of Tel Aviv University, a mentor for Endeavor, a member of the YPO Organization and a board member of Millennium Institute and other 11 companies.
